A Commitment
That goes beyond the companies
The wellbeing of our community and the environment are the pillars on which our business development is based.
La Cabaña del Pastor (The Shepherd’s Cabin)

In its desire to carry out a true task of social responsibility, beyond its Companies, GRUPO INCA has taken the initiative to improve the houses of the alpaca breeders, who live at more than 4,000 m.a.s.l., and who, due to the nature of the weather of the Andes, live in extremely precarious conditions.

The company Inca Tops, has decided to initiate a program called “la Cabaña del Pastor”, based at our Pacomarca Farm, located in Llalli, Melgar, Puno. Here prototype houses have been built, using local designs and materials, which will then be adapted in other alpaca communities of Peru.

Enseña Perú

GRUPO INCA joined the initiative of the Asociación Enseña Perú for the purpose of expanding to the Arequipa Region a program that seeks to improve the education of Peruvians. The vision is that someday all children and young people will have the opportunity to access an education of excellence.

Enseña Perú supports the theory of a change in the education sector. The objective is, to utilize a group of young leaders recently graduated from the best universities and institutes of Peru and from various specialties, so that:

- In the short term and for a couple of years, they work in state schools, teaching and supporting the training of teachers. The work is remunerated and full time.

- In the medium term, these graduates will become leaders with a mixture of talent and experience from the basis of a new educational system.

- In the long term, produce a group of leaders committed to education, which allows them to make a real change in the formation of future generations.

Free consultancies

As we are aware that the development, progress and productivity of the companies of GRUPO INCA are the result of the contribution of all our collaborators, we intend to protect their general wellbeing, as far as possible. Therefore, different assistance programs have been implemented. So far, Medical, Psychological, Dental and Legal Consultancy services are being provided, free of charge.

These services are provided in the installations of the companies which have agreed to their execution. They are currently provided directly to the collaborators and their families, according to established schedules.

Cold spell campaigns

For over ten years, GRUPO INCA, through its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, has been organizing campaigns against the cold weather spells that hit the high Andean zones of the south of the country.

Our volunteer collaborators travel to the high Andean areas where GRUPO INCA has influence, due to the various activities that it develops, delivering to the population: warm clothing, alpaca and synthetic blankets, food and medicine.

Additionally, medical attention is provided and awareness is created in these populations regarding the prevention of respiratory illnesses and the timely recognition of pneumonia, mainly in children and elderly people.

The beneficiaries are the Andean communities such as Yanque and Ichupampa in the province of Caylloma - Arequipa, and Llalli, Buenavista, Checasica Alto and Bajo in the department of Puno.

Christmas Campaigns

Since the year 2000, various companies of GRUPO INCA have been organizing hot chocolate events (locally known as chocolatadas) for the Christmas Holidays. The beneficiaries are more than 3,000 children, who are provided with moments of happiness and hope.

This activity benefits children and the elderly who live in the peripheral zones of Arequipa; in the towns of Yanque and Ichupampa, located close to the Colca Lodge Hotel; and in the community of Totora in Calca, Cusco.

The funds for the realization of the chocolatadas, are obtained from donations of the workers of GRUPO INCA, as well as from the Companies that promote the initiative.

The objective of these activities is to share with the most needy a hot chocolate drink and a present. Our reward, the smile of a child.
