The textile concern AMANO SA was
set up in the year 2000 by Collagua I & D SA as a project for
small-business development. Only at the beginning of 2003 did it
become a part of the textile division of the Grupo Inca.
The company was launched with the idea of rescuing the rich textile
tradition handed down from Perú's remote past. Amano uses
labor intensively and preserves the textile designs of the Ancient
Peruvians.
Carpets, shawls, scarves, stoles, and pullovers are produced
by hand in alpaca, sheep's wool, and other fibers. A cleaning
and repairing service for all types of carpets is also offered.
Amano will soon be implementing the production of plush fabrics
for bedcovers and other decorative items.
